Over a year after THAT hurricane, New Orleans still aches - from physical
battering and a lifetime of empty promises. (You know, the ones about
the levees working.) The suicide rate's almost tripled, and alcohol
consumption - well, take a guess. What to do?
Well, Dogfingers Records has enlisted the help of Boxcar Satan and
San Francisco's Graves
Brothers Deluxe for a benefit disc called "Black Water
Rising." It's fun, and not too complicated (Boxcar plays
Graves Brothers; Graves Brothers plays Boxcar. Boxcar plays Charley
Patton; Graves Brothers plays Huey "Piano" Smith.).
Proceeds from sales of this four-song CD EP will be donated to groups
providing free mental health care in the Gulf Coast area.
